2 Sleeps till our carnival! We are looking forward to a fantastic weekend of racing on our new and improved track!
WHAT'S ON THIS WEEK 14st May
Firstly a MASSIVE thank you to Mr Steve Mundie and the boys for all their hard work on Saturday concreting the first berm. Thanks to the parents who also came along to lend a hand. It looks fantastic and I bet the riders cant wait to test it out.
Our May Madness Carnival is THIS weekend Sat 19 & Sun 20th May
If you can help out and have not put your name down please let us know. The more helpers the less we all have to do. Remember you help out for YOUR kids. Canteen is always on the look out for helpers over the weekend. We also need helpers in the canteen on our normal Sunday race meets, Last race day we had a parent of cairns riders helping out in our canteen, even if you can only spare half an hour or an hour, every little bit helps. Please lend a hand, your helping out is for your kids .. the canteen is our main fundraiser for the club.
Training/Track Time is on Tuesday 15th & Thursday 17th May however this week we will only be going from the second straight to allow our new concreted berm to set
Just a couple of housekeeping reminders ... if your child is at training or racing a parent or guardian must be there AT ALL TIMES. You cannot drop your child off and come back later to collect them. If a child is there with no parent or guardian they will not be allowed to ride on the track. All riders under the age of 18 MUST have an adult present.
Alot of work has been put into the track getting it all nice for the riders, please keep off the track at all times unless you are on your bike. No running, playing, sliding etc on the track please as this damages the track.

NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN - You can nominate online at www.bmxfnq.com.au click on 2012 Calendar Events, then scroll down to May .. Find Atherton Carnival and click 'online here' or you can do it the old fashioned way with our club registrar Elaine.
FORMING UP THE BERM - In order to concrete the Berm we need to form it up Saturday and Sunday of the long weekend (5and 6 May). During the week of the concrete pour we need helpers after work on Wed 9th May, Thurs 10th May and Friday 11th May to install the reinforcing mesh. If you can help please let Andrew or Steve know.
CONCRETING THE BERM - We need about 6 men to assist the concreters on Saturday the 12th May. See Andrew/Steve for start time, it will be early.
CANTEEN
Thank you to those who have already put their name down to Help in the canteen at our carnival but now that our club is growing its a lot of work for one person, please don't forget that we also need help in the canteen on Sunday Race Days preparing, cooking and serving so if you can help out at Sunday racing too please see Tammi.
CARNIVAL CANTEEN HELPERS - We need to have at least 2 people at a time to help Tammi in the canteen during the day (more during the breaks). Can each family please do a couple of hours over the weekend in the canteen. Rooster is up at Canteen.
HOME BAKING - Thank you to those who have already put their name down to bake something. Atherton BMX is the only club that has home baking at carnivals and we are well known for this, so let's not disappoint anyone!! Please bake a cake, cookies, slice or cupcakes and bring in on the Saturday of the carnival, please slice cakes etc and if possible bring in a container (with your name on it) that we can put on the counter.
